Manuel Dasilva: Former Minor League Baseball Player

Manuel Dasilva is a radio producer and disc jockey based in Brooklyn, New York. Manuel Dasilva started playing baseball before he went to high school and learned how to hit, field, and pitch before he tried out for the high school team as a freshman. His offseason training, which allowed him to find a place as a regular starter for his high school team, kept him in professional baseball for several years, during which he learned the best ways to train and keep his body in shape during the offseason so that he was prepared every Spring Training.

Manuel Dasilva followed a strict diet during the offseason, eating a good mix of vegetables and other foods with chondroitin, a supplement that strengthens the tendons and joints and helps the body replace and regrow cartilage. Dasilva was a pitcher for much of his minor league career, so taking care of his tendons and joints was a top priority.

Manuel Dasilva also had to keep his body well-supplied with protein, so meat was on the menu often as well to keep his muscles growing and getting stronger. Dasilva was dedicated to his offseason workouts, which were designed to improve his leg and arm strength, get his body into good physical condition, and train his arm to throw hundreds of pitches during the season.

Manuel Dasilva played professional baseball for several years because he stuck to his workout routines during the season and the offseason. His dedication showed on the mound and at the plate—he was used as a hitter as well as a pitcher.
